you’d of thought that by working in a department store i’d become an instant fashionista but instead it has just made me angry and aware of how over expensive/badly made things are, for instance i found a £120 dress and it’s seams didn’t even meet, i hardly ever buy clothes that are new or over £5 so this all seems very ridiculous, and on the system i looked at where they are made and i’m 90% it’s sweatshop conditions!!!

anyway harry and i did loads of cute couple things yesterday such as watching whitney houstans funeral and making paper mache masks, i kept making him do extra layers and making the paper smooth whilst splashing floury-watery-glue at him

we were talking today about feeling small, doing the right thing and fighting back. my friend witnessed a couple in public where the man grabbed the woman by the neck of her clothing and pulled her towards him before shouting obscenities at her and hitting her. everyone watched, my friend was too scared to do anything, what if he attacked her? everyone stared and no one said a word, not a single person on the late train home. i found this disgusting, but then questioned my own actions if i was her, would i of said anything in fear? from a young age we are taught to speak up about bullies, that they can be overcome by talking to a teacher and the bully would be spoken to, people seem to think that because it does not involve them that they shouldn’t help.

i have been thinking about producing a zine for international womens day on the 8th march for a while and shayane’s post about it just jogged my memory!! i’ll probably post more about it tomorrow but if anyone is interested in submitting please get in touch!
